To better understand the AML legislative updates and their implication for business operations and compliance practices in China, USCBC will be hosting an event featuring this topic with three distinguished speakers including two AML practitioners and an in-house expert from a multinational company to share their views and experiences. The updated AML, which will come into effect on August 1, includes major changes such as significantly increased fines for antitrust violations, introduction of personal liability, continued scrutiny of online platforms, a safe harbor for determining distributors’ resale prices, as well as key procedural updates on the review of Merger and Acquisition. China’s Anti-monopoly Law (AML) is undergoing its biggest change in 14 years with a new amendment of the AML by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on June 24 and triggered changes on six supporting enforcement guidelines which are currently open for public consultation.
